Stable

The dot eLearning platform is based on the latest stable version of the Moodle Learning Management System. Moodle is a freely available ‘Open Source’ software e-learning platform.

The system is designed to help educators create online courses with opportunities for rich interaction. Its 'Open Source' license and modular design means that people can develop additional functionality for their Learning Management System. Development is undertaken by a globally diffused network of commercial and non-commercial users. With more than 49,000 registered Moodle sites worldwide, 2.4 million courses and over 26 million users, Moodle is now the most widely used Learning Management System in the world. The Waikato Institute of Technology has used Moodle as its eLearning platform since 2005, and now delivers over 3000 modules of online learning every year. With robust technical infrastructure in place, and an experienced and capable administration team, Wintec and the Curriculum Factory are uniquely placed to offer external clients a high quality eLearning experience for a fraction of the cost and energy usually required.

Hosted clients also enjoy the benefits of server maintenance, disaster recovery, free upgrades and access to a business-hours helpdesk, by email and telephone.
